The Woolwich Pier Hotel ranked as one of the top 8 pubs in NSW and top 4 in Sydney.

“The Waterfront beauty boasts a bistro, beer garden, upstairs cocktail lounge and a wraparound verandah with expansive harbour views. Executive chef Lee Kwiez’s food is seasonal and smashing: duck and pistachio terrine, sugar-cured Petuna ocean trout, braised beef and ale pot pie, and dry-aged, grain- and pasture-fed steaks rather exceed pub-grub expectations. The prices reflect this, so: a) whip out the credit card, or b) visit on a weeknight for $15 schnitzel, steak or sausage specials. Reuben sandwiches and Kwiez’s Victor Churchill “Hoagie” (a Philly-style hotdog delicacy) win over sports bar punters.”

Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation Fundraiser

For every children’s meal sold, $2 will be donated to the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation

The donation will be made by the Medich Foundation which is the charitable foundation established by the owners of the Woolwich Pier Hotel. The first quarterly announcement of the funds donated will be 31st March 2012.

The Point Sports Bar Open Night

The newly refurbished The Point Sports Bar at Woolwich Pier Hotel was launch on Friday 2nd September with Ron Wilson as MC and special guests Nick Farr-Jones and Colin Scotts.

The Points Sports Bar is an official Heineken World Cup Bar which kicks off 9th September 2011 showing all the World Cup games. Who better than former Captain of a winning rugby union team; Nick Farr-Jones to captivate the crowd with his views on the upcoming World Cup series. Colin Scotts provided an entertaining view of his life in America playing professional football for the NFL.

Along with the special sports guests, the Hunters Hill Mayor Susan Hoopman dropped in, also attending were locals and key people who contributed to the opening of The Point Sports Bar. Everyone got to sample dishes from the new sports bar menu. A particular favourite was the ‘Woolwich Hogie’ their new Chef Lee Kwiez’s gourmet take on the traditional hotdog.

The Point Sports Bar is a great addition to the Woolwich Pier Hotel and with in-house TAB sports bet facilities allowing you to back your favourite team, a big screen TV, custom made leather booths and captain chairs. It is a great place to take in sporting events from around the world.
